At Miðnám á Kambsdali there are over 500 students and about 75 teachers and 15 other employees. Miðnám á Kambsdali mainly offers one-, two- and three-year study programs. Most students attend the three-year Upper Secondary program.
Study Programs
The three-year Upper Secondary programs offered are:
- Búskaparbreyt – Economics line
- Hugbreyt – Humanities line
- Náttúrubreyt – Science line
The two-year Upper Secondary program offered is:
- Fyrireikingarbreyt – Preparatory line. The Preparatory line is offered in Kambsdal and in Klaksvík
The one-year Basic Vocational program offered is:
- FHS (Fyrisiting-, handil- og skrivstova) – Basic Vocational Education – Commercial line
In addition to these programs there are also some special programs. For instance:
- Norðuratlantiski studentaflokkurin – The North Atlantic Upper Secondary Class. This is a program for selected students from The Faroes, Greenland, Iceland and Denmark.
- Serbreytin – Special needs line. This is a program for students with special needs, offering certificates through the OCN system.

Requirements for admission
The requirements for admission to Economics-, Humanities-, Science- and Preparatory line are:
- that you have completed 9th grade from the Fólkaskúli (Faroese municipal primary and lower-secondary school) or have an equivalent education from another school
- that you have completed the required 9th grade examinations of the Fólkaskúli in written Faroese, Danish, English and arithmetic/mathematics
- that you have completed the 9th grade oral examinations of the Fólkaskúli, which the Ministry of Culture has chosen
- and for Preparatory line, that you have turned 18 years old on December 31st (at the latest) in the year that you start the program
Students that have completed the above-mentioned examinations with satisfactory results can apply for admission to the study lines mentioned above
If the applicant does not meet some of the requirements mentioned above the school can make a specific evaluation of the applicant – possibly an entrance exam – and make a decision based on that
The requirement for admission to the Basic Vocational Education – Commercial line (FHS) is:
- that you have completed 9th grade from the Fólkaskúli (Faroese municipal primary and lower-secondary school) or have an equivalent education from another school

Additional requirements might apply to the specific lines, as well as to the North Atlantic program and the Special needs program. The language of instruction
All courses at Miðnám á Kambsdali are taught in Faroese. Exceptions to this rule are a few courses, which are taught by Danish native speakers that prefer to teach in Danish.
The study material
Currently most textbooks used at Miðnám á Kambsdali are in Danish. In many courses it can nevertheless be expected that handouts are in Faroese.
Study grants
Study grants for studying in the Faroes must be applied for and are granted those that have:
- Danish citizenship and are enrolled in a study grant entitled education program in the Faroes, or
- have foreign citizenship, are legally residing in the Faroes and do not receive grants from their home country, but:
- before the age of 20 have taken permanent residence in the Faroes along with their parents,
- after the age of 20 have had permanent residence in the Faroes for at least two consecutive years before study start
- have permanent residence in the Faroes and have been married to a Danish citizen for at least two years.
