Faroese as a Second Language
Are you new to the Faroese language? Do you already understand some Faroese and want to improve your skills? Or have you previously been in Faroese language courses and wish to continue your studies? No matter your level or how long you’ve been in the Faroe Islands, you are welcome to join the Faroese as a Second Language (FSA) courses at Miðnám á Kambsdali / Kambsdal College – Curriculum.
What is FSA?
FSA is language classes for adult newcomers whose first language is not Faroese. The main focus is to learn the Faroese language and to get insight into Faroese culture and society.
Course Schedule:
Classes will be offered during both daytime and evenings:
- Daytime courses: 3-5 days per week + online activities
- Evening courses: 2-3 evenings per week + online activities
- Online course: 2-3 evenings per week
Daytime courses will be held: Kl. 8.10 – 11.25
Evening courses will be held: Kl. 16.55 – 20.05
**Changes may occur in the final schedule **
Location: Courses will take place in Kambsdalur and occasionally in Klaksvík.
Price: The courses are free of charge, but participants must cover the cost of course materials (max 500kr. each course).
Application deadline: November 15th.
Visitations: Will be held in December and January (If you have already passed a level in FSA at Kambsdalur, you do not need to attend visitation.)
Start Date:
Each course is 15 weeks long, and we kick off with an Information Day on Wednesday 14th January.
